Primary Purpose:

To increase the applicant flow for all the offices within the SmartTalent network by:

  • Using a variety of recruiting activities and efforts
  • Using creativity to attract new applicants to SmartTalent
  • Using discretion and independent judgment to make employment and hiring decisions during the screening and selection process

Reports To:

The President of SmartTalent Based in Kirkland

Key Responsibilities:

As a SmartTalent Region Recruiter you are responsible for a steady and increasing flow of qualified applicants to the SmartTalent offices.  Your recruiting activities would include, but not be limited to:

  • Determining the needs of the offices on a weekly/daily basis and plan activities
  • Decide which ads to search on various Internet sites for general inventory and specific client requests
  • Maintain current postings, refreshing and determining their effectiveness.
  • Researching new avenues to source new applicants
  • Researching, contact, market SmartTalent and develop new recruiting sources for qualified applicants
  • Attend/schedule external job fairs
  • Conduct/assist/schedule branch office hiring events
  • Determine and conduct off-site recruiting activities, such as “Employer of the Day” at WorkSource
  • Post recruiting flyers within the various marketplaces
  • Conduct research and market alternative methods to recruit qualified applicants; Internet, trade publications, newspapers, etc.
  • Complete a weekly recruiting report to determine most effective means of recruiting
  • Research various Internet sites for qualified applicants, calling, pre-screening, evaluate and after determining suitability scheduling an interview in the office with the respective recruiter.

Possible Branch Office Activities:

  • Float and fill–in when needed during special projects and heavy seasonal staffing requirements; Assist during heavy recruiting activities
  • Assist with calls and re-screening and scheduling résumés for appointments
  • Interview screen and evaluate applicant skills and abilities during the office screening process
  • Employee application entry, when needed
  • Assist with reference checking and ensuring the offices are completing references on all new employees
  • Make offers of employment during the hiring process

Other Activities:

  • Research ways to increase market awareness; job fairs, press releases, social media, etc.
  • Employee newsletter
  • Research articles that would assist our employees’ job search activities
  • Visit customer work sites to learn the unique and specific needs of our client base
  • Attend Association or networking events
  • Facilitate branch internships
  • Any other duties deemed necessary

This position requires:

  • Travel to various SmartTalent offices each week and around Western Washington
  • Strong communication and computer skills
  • Prior recruiting experience
  • Prior staffing industry experience, preferred

About You:

Must be a self starter, eager to learn, flexible, reliable and have the ability to shift from one task to the next quickly. Ability to meet deadlines is critical as well as a positive attitude. This position is a high pressure position that requires a person to prioritize tasks to complete projects in a timely manner. Exceeding personal and client expectations should be part of your character along with having a good sense of humor.

Key Responsibilities:

As a Recruiter, you are responsible for overseeing your temporary employees. You will exercise discretion and independent judgment in the following areas:

  • Source, interview, evaluate, select, hire and train employees for Temporary, Temporary-to-Hire and Direct positions.
  • Submit employee information to employer. Including resume and why they are a good fit.
  • Oversee employee activity including, training on company policy, explaining job duties and expectations.
  • Coaching employee’s on attendance, tardiness and other disciplinary actions.
  • Answers to employee’s complaints, grievances, questions and concerns.
  • Thorough documentation of all customer and employee activity.
  • Visit customer sites; attend recruiting activities and job fairs as needed during the week, evenings and weekends.
  • Speak with customers to define their staffing needs. Identify essential functions of position.
  • Establish the job description.
  • Market for new business; assist scheduling appointments and qualifying accounts for the sales team.
  • Meeting daily and weekly tele-sales quota.
  • Serve as an on-call representative after hours, responding to any work-related emergency.
